Adams Heading South of the Border to Tell Migrants He’s Rescinded His Sanctuary City Offer

Giving up on his sanctuary city signaling after more than 120,000 migrants flooded into New York, Mayor Eric Adams is heading south of the border to tell them to stop coming.

President Biden’s open border policy has been a disaster for the city, which has run out of room and money to accommodate the aliens. Stating that the migrant crisis will “destroy” New York, Adams has struck out with the White House for help in covering the $12 billion he said it will cost taxpayers to support the migrants over the next two years.

Insisting that the trip won’t be paid for out of city coffers, Adams will visit Mexico, Colombia, and Ecuador to personally deliver his no mas message.

“We want to give people a true picture of what is here,” Adams said. “We are at capacity.” The mayor has been criticized for the way he’s handled his invitees, including a chastising from the president. New Yorkers are rallying against his migrant camps, and suburban officials are seeing red over the lawsuits he filed against them when they took steps to stop him from transferring the migrant problem to their communities.

He plans on distributing fliers and talking to the airwaves in Central and South America to withdraw his previous offers of housing and jobs. The trip will be paid for by non-profit immigrant support groups, according to the mayor.

“We need to counteract those forms of communications that are basically saying, ‘You come to the City of New York, you're going to automatically have a job, you're going to be in a five-star hotel,’” Adams said.

Adams, who will spread his message through interpreters, will spend a day in each country. He expressed confidence that his appearance will help deter some of the immigrants set on coming to the city. “It would be foolish for me to sit back and not try to stop this on a local, state, national and international level,” he said.
